On May 10th you will find us at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham for this year’s Engineering Materials Live event. The Pentagon Group are delighted to be returning to this exciting one-day event drawing attention to their extensive Plastic Injection Moulding and Toolmaking services.
This specialised event is aimed at meeting the needs of engineers tasked with sourcing and specifying plastic mouldings, composites, prototyped parts, and advanced engineering materials.
What to expect
Visitors to the event will be able to see a small selection of the bespoke Modular Insert tooling options that are offered by the group. This innovative tooling form is offered as a low-cost solution to develop a product as well as providing low volume production.
The part owned system can be produced from soft alloy, pre-toughened or fully hardened steel depending on the tool life required and other contributing factors. This effective form of tooling will have a simple ejection system and usually be straight open and shut without the need for side movements to produce cross holes or undercut features.
However, It is possible to create simple undercut features by incorporating loose inserts or side action movement if necessary. With the added advantage of making minor adjustments to assist in the development of a new part.
