Jun 26, 2023

On Friday night the Pentagon Group attended the highly regarded Sussex Chamber Business Awards as nominees for two categories ‘The Workplace Developer’ and ‘The Equality Trailblazer’.

The prestigious black-tie event was well attended with across section of Sussex based businesses and chamber members.  Celebrity guest speaker Ben Fogle captivated the audience with recital of his heart stopping adventures and his journey through the education system.

Pentagon were one of the four finalists on the night for The Workforce Developer Award, recognising the business approach to learning and development and how this enhances business performance.  The award was sponsored by Roffey Park Institute and although not winners in this category it was a pleasure to share our training and development strategies with the judges.

The groups big win of the evening was for the award of The Equality Trailblazer aimed at organisations that champion diversity and promotes inclusion in the workforce, customers, and the wider community. Having welcomed the judging team from award sponsor Mayo Wynne Baxter Solicitors, Pentagon were thrilled to be awarded winners of this category on the night.  The award was presented by Rebecca Louis, Partner at the law firm in recognition of the businesses on-going and developing work within Equality Diversity and Inclusion.

Pentagon are proud to be paving the way for progressive people first culture, investing heavily in professional training and upskilling of team members while working to upscale the level of inclusivity and diversity across all areas of the organisation.

The working world is changing at pace as are the individuals that are in it, now more than ever organisations of all industries need to be investing in and developing their understanding of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion within the workplace and beyond.  It is not just the responsibility of People Professionals and HR departments to deliver ED&I through the workplace, the inclusive culture needs to run through the very veins of an organisation to deliver equality to all, both now and in the future.
