Pentagon take on eight new team members

May 31, 2023

We have made no secret of just how busy the start of 2023 has been for us here at Pentagon, with huge increase in demand for plastic injection moulding production and the staggering rise in demand for our UK mould tool manufacturing services these last months have been (and continue to be) nothing short of a whirlwind.

Since October last year the production team have been utilising the reliable and efficient services of temporary staff from long term local supplier PerTemps to help facilitate the through-put of packing and support the machine operation processes across all shifts.  Some of these temporary placements that we have engaged have been so successful that permanent positions have been created as a result. Due to consistent high levels of packing a further part-time position has also been introduced which delivers a combined capacity increase in Production Operating team of a staggering 20%. Current forecasting for the year to come looks to deliver consistently elevated levels of production across all major industry sectors, this recent increase in staffing capacity is vital for the business to continue to deliver on this elevated capacity going forward and ensure customer lead times continue to be met.

With increasing demand being placed on our Production team here at Pentagon we have created a new role in administration. The position delivers a unique and exciting opportunity and has the potential to grow and evolve overtime. As the daily pressure increases on our leadership team it is important that any general administrative duties are removed from their scope of responsibility so as not to draw on their resource capacity or negatively impact workplace wellbeing. This part-time administration role comes with prominent level of responsibility and supports our internal supply chain management process, cross function communication skills will be required to assist our management and leadership teams.

And as if six new team members within the Moulding Division was not enough, we are thrilled to have also successfully recruited an additional two experienced Toolmakers who joined the Tooling Division in recent months. Experienced Toolmakers are notoriously hard to come by these days which makes this successful hire even more valuable to us here at Pentagon. Supporting the future proofing of our bespoke tool making services our newest toolmakers have wasted no time in getting started, working on a major new bespoke tooling projects their expertise and experience already shining through.

Never in our rich fifty plus year history have we recruited at this intense level. It brings so much excitement throughout the entire business as we move from a small to medium size business seeing significant business expansion. It has been a turbulent period so being able to deliver this elevated level of recruitment opportunities to the local community is exceptional. Investment in increased staffing levels is always data driven and we take a considered and measured approach to expanding the team ensuring any new roles within the organisation are sustainable and support overarching business needs.

Last year the Management team laid out the foundations of an ambitious growth plan to be executed over the coming years, continuing to enhance service levels and increase market share, it looks as if we are already taking strides in the right direction.
