Pentagon offers three weeks of work experience placements to local students

Jan 6, 2021

Pentagon has offered annual work experience placements to Secondary students for a number of years but 2019 will surpass any other....

This year the group is hosting 3 consecutive weeks of work experience students from three local secondary schools.  Responding to the increasing demand for placement opportunities the group will be facilitating three local students fora week at a time.

A dedicated work plan is set out for each student, this delivers a broad scope of understanding of the business processes and reflects the individual’s key areas of interest with the manufacturing and engineering.

The work experience week is an opportunity for all the Pentagon work force to have an in-put as the students spend time in all areas of the organisation including; design, tooling division, moulding division and post moulding operations.  Students are also invited to draw up their own product design using CAD and the product is run on the in-house 3D printer for students to take away with them at the end of the working week.

When offering work placements Pentagon feel it is imperative that they gain student feedback on the overall experience and find out what the individual has gained for their week.  This helps to continuously develop and enhance the experience for future student placements ensuring they gain as much from their time as possible.

Stepping from education to employment is a major transitional period for any young person.  Offering insight in what it really means to be an employee in an industry of interest is invaluable and Pentagon is proud to deliver work placement opportunities.
