The Pentagon Group enjoyed a real upsurge in mould tooling orders in the second half of 2017 seeing both our UK Toolroom’s (Pentagon Plastics & Phoenix Engineering) flat out in the last 5 months of the year and this looks to be continuing into 2018.
Additional sub-contract service
Starting the New Year in a buoyant position with the production of new tooling projects and with the recent investment into state of the art laser welding technology paves the way for an exciting year ahead for our group businesses.
Our in-house laser welder will add a service that we can offer both existing customers and as a sub-contract service later in the year which will be supported by a dedicated technical team.
To kick off the year we will be welcoming a new wave of Product Design Students from the London Southbank University for a tour of our facilities and an insight into the key elements to aid design for manufacture of plastic injection mouldings. Following this, we will again support the students with a special award at this year’s LSBU Design Degree Show.
The line-up for this year’s trade exhibitions so far includes Engineering Materials Live on May 10th at the National Motorcycle Museum and this year’s Engineering Design Show in Coventry on 17th -18th October.
Investment in staff
Our staff are our biggest asset and with this in mind, we will be looking to invest in further training to enhance current skillsets, processing knowledge and new skills to aid the business and advance the individual.
As our group companies come together we will be realigning our management structure to best support our services. The framework of which was laid out towards the end of last year and we will now be implementing this plan with internal transitions taking place over the coming months.
We are just five days into the New Year but we can already see that 2018 is going to be a busy one for us here and we can’t wait to take on the challenges ahead!
